Tonight it is do or die for 8 teams in the lower bracket of the CEVO-P Placement Tournament Double elimination bracket. The 4 teams that win tonight from the lower bracket will continue on in their quest for CEVO-P, while their 4 losing opponents will pack it up and move on down to CEVO-Main for Season 7.
Also in action tonight will be compLexity vs. justBALLS in the upper bracket. The winner will claim the second slot of 10 available slots in CEVO-P. The first slot went to 3D.NY last night as they took down Skull Gaming in dominating fashion with a 13-2 score for round 2. The two remaining upper bracket matches, Optx vs. Hyper and Chimera vs. PK have been rescheduled to Monday evening.

(1) Chicago Chimera vs. (9) PK
Monday, October 13 - 10:30pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #chicagochimera
sapphiRe's prediction: Chimera > PK 13-11 I think Chimera will win here based off of sheer experience as a team. PK has been impressive with entry frags from what I have seen thus far so I can see them taking 5-6 rounds on T side. Chimera will go down early but bounce back to clinch the remaining rounds that will send them on to CEVO-P.
(4) Skull Gaming vs. (5) 3D.NY
-- Final score: 3D.NY > Skull 13-2
(3) San Francisco Optx vs. (6) Hyper
Monday, October 13 - 8:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #optx
sapphiRe's prediction:
Optx > Hyper 13-8
I don't see Hyper being able to overtake Optx here. From what I can tell, inferno seems to be one of the more successful maps for Optx. I'm confident that Hyper will be able to advance on to CEVO-P eventually, but it won't happen in this round.
Guest prediction from Volcano (3D.NY):
Optx > Hyper 13-9
"I think this has potential to be one of the better matches of round 2. Both teams have a lot of experience, however I'm going to have to give the edge to Optx here. I can see this being a very close match, but I think in the end, the Optx will be too strong."
(2) Los Angeles compLexity vs. (7) justBALLS
Friday, October 10 - 11:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #complexity
sapphiRe's prediction:
compLexity > justBALLS 13-7
jB has only lost one match thus far in the tournament which was to Chimera. I think they'll be able to give coL some good competition, but coL anxious to advance and far too powerful to be defeated by this team. However, jB should also have an easy road while in the lower bracket.
(10) CyberRevolution vs. (15) eXult
Friday, October 10 - 10:30pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #exult , #cyberrevolution
sapphiRe's prediction:
eXult > CyberRevolution 13-9
Last time these two teams met in group play, eXult came out on top. While I haven't had too many opportunities to watch either team play this week, I think that we'll see a similar outcome again with eXult taking the W.
(11) Dynamic vs. (14) eX
Friday, October 10 - 8:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #dynamic , #exegaming
sapphiRe's prediction:
eX 13-10
Dynamic had a very rough match against Hyper in round 1 losing 13-2, while eX was impressive with only a 13-11 loss to Optx. Dynamic can definitely beat this team, but they'll need to get focused and forgot about yesterday if they are going to come close. I'm taking eX here but feel that both teams are pretty equal.
(12) vANSKAP vs. (13) KEYBOARD SMASHERS
Friday, October 10 - 11:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: #vanskap
sapphiRe's prediction:
vANSKAP > KBS 13-6
I have been happily impressed by vANSKAP in the past few days. They gave 3D.NY a good scare last night in their round 1 match, which went into overtime. vANSKAP is a very dedicated team that I can see doing well in CEVO-P. They are fueled by last night's close loss and ready to turn some heads once again.
(8) Team.NEG vs. (16.) Mug N Mouse
Friday, October 10 - 9:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: pending
* Scorebot: pending
sapphiRe's prediction:
NEG > Mug N Mouse 13-8
I may have said this an an early prediction, but MNM has really been on and off for me...and I think tonight will be another off night. NEG hasn't done as well as I predicted as of late, but I do feel (and hope!) that their stacked line-up can change that around tonight.
