I just wanted to make a quick post to avoid confusion. I've had a nasty itch to bring LANDodger back from the dead for a long time now. Months, really. Things are finally rolling now, and if you've been waiting for some content on this old horse ... well, your wait is over. There's only one catch: LD is no longer a one-man show.
To keep it short, I started LANDodger because I felt like eSports media wasn't up to par. Some games or tournaments were ignored. Stats were almost non-existent. If you think for a second about those last two sentences, you'll probably come to the conclusion that it describes the scene today, too. And it does. I feel the same way about eSports media today that I did when I wrong the "About LANDodger" page. We need something better.
Of course, I can't do it myself. In fact, I'm not sure what my role will be on this page. I don't even know where we'll end up, how we'll get there, or who will come along for the ride. All I know is that I want to build something eSports fans can call home; a place where they feel welcome, and a place where they can come for sincere discussion, news, and entrainment.
The only way I know how to get there is to jump in feet-first, and hope for the best. So I'd like to give a warm welcome to the first person to work on LD besides me: Heather "sapphiRe" Mumm. You're going to see her around the site, because she's one of the most dedicated people in eSports. I can't thank her enough for coming on board, and I know you're going to feel the same way.
It's time for a new beginning. LANDodger, take two. I hope you join us. It's going to be a fun ride.
